The effort of Vassilis and Giannis Velanis in the second leg of the EKO Rally Acropolis continued successfully. The duo of VE2 Rally Team managed to complete Saturday’s specials in the second place among the Greek crews in one of the toughest races of the World Rally Championship.
«The stages of the second leg had a high degree of difficulty. The rains of the last few days had left their mark on Pavliani and Eleftherochori which were very slippery, while Voxites and Gravia were classic “Acropolis” with a hard surface and many stones.” said the driver Vassilis Velanis about the situation of the special stages and added: «Our tactic of moving carefully and not taking unnecessary risks pays off. We want to bring the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo intact to the finish. We are in second place among the Greek crews of the race and in the sixth in WRC3 category and our goal now is to maintain the achievements in the last day of the Acropolis Rally» added the driver of the VE2 Rally Team, with the crew being surprised by the large presence of the people on the special stages of the race: “The people in the specials are too many. What we face in the Greek mountains is something fantastic. We warmly ask the spectators who will be in the specials on the last day to be very careful and to follow the instructions of the people of the race so that the Acropolis Rally is completed successfully.”
The EKO Rally Acropolis comes to an end on Sunday with the holding of the last three stages of the race!
