For the fifth time in his career, Jourdan Serderidis will take part in the EKO Rally Acropolis. Our Greek WRC representative will participate in his favorite race with a hybrid Ford Puma Rally1 against the best drivers in the world.
“It is an honor to drive a factory car in the classRally1 in my hometown race. Our whole racing year this year is designed around Rally Acropolis and I really want to do well in Greece. I know that the Greek fans will support us warmly, as they do every year, and I want to repay their love with a good result and a lot of spectacle! ” said the Greek Champion of the 2017 WRC Trophy class.
Serderidis will have next to him in the buckets of the factory M-Sport hybrid racing car the experienced Belgian Fred Miclotte, with whom they have achieved several successes, including the seventh place in the recent Rally Safari: “Our first participation in a World Championship Rally with the new Ford Puma Rally1 went much better than we could have dreamed. In an exhausting race under really difficult conditions we responded to the maximum by scoring the best result of our career. A big part of the success is due to my co-driver who helped me manage my strength and my pace. I expect something similar in the Acropolis Rally, which will be an equally demanding race for the crews and the cars ”,ήταν τα λόγια του Ιορδάνη Σερδερίδη.
The crew continues the reconnaissance of the race special stages until Wednesday afternoon and is very pleased with the state of the specials and their notes: “We really liked the special features of this year’s race, both the familiar ones from previous years and the new ones. During the reconnaissance we encountered all road surface conditions. Some specials were classic acropolis with lots of stones and dust, some had mud and some wet road surface. We think that by the days of the Rally the specials will be completely dry and we will be talking about Acropolis with a lot of dust “, he stated.
The tests carried out before the race by the Puma crew with the blue and white in the sky helped them a lot to find the right set-up of the car, while the directions they received from their team-mates and especially Sebastien Loeb were more than useful: “It has always been my dream to be able to compete under the same roof as the multi-champion WRC Sebastien Loeb. He is very motivated for a good result in the race, as we are, and the advice he gave us was very helpful.“
The EKO Rally Acropolis starts on Thursday 8 September in the evening with the OAKA super-special and continues on the three days of 9-11 September in the beautiful specials of Loutraki and Central Greece.
