Lefteris Alygizakis-Michalis Hatzidakis left Ioannina with the second place overall in their luggage. The i-race crew successfully participated in the second race of the Greek Tarmac Rally Championship, the Ipirotiko Rally, gaining useful experiences for the continuation of championship
A two days race, with Saturday including a special stage, which was repeated twice: “Saturday’s special stage was different from those of the second day and at the same time was demanding. I want to congratulate Michalis Hatzidakis, as Marmara special stage required a frantic pace of pacenotes reading and my co-driver responded in the best possible way “, were the words of the 42-year-old driver, who continued:” A wrong choice of tires and some driving mistakes do not allowed us to be close to the top, but being second, we built a safety margin from the rest.”
Sunday included six special stages, known to the crew from participation in the race at 2019: “We may have run in the second leg two years ago, but the experience of our opponents was greater, as we had to face the winners of the last five versions of the race. From our side, we followed a fast and steady pace, as our times show, as we always have in mind to finish. Our goal this year is to make all the racing kilometers and get acquainted as much as possible with our new car “, said Lefteris Alygizakis and added:” We are also satisfied with the setup of the Skoda Fabia R5, as well the changes we made to the suspension for the Ipirotiko Rally seem to be working. The second place and our appearance at the Ipirotiko Rally finds us satisfied. The goal of course is to come as close as possible to the top and become more and more competitive to the point of claiming victory. “
In the end, the Cretan driver did not fail to mention the warm hospitality of the organizing club: “They deserve a lot of congratulations to the racing club of Ioannina, as it respected the crews that participated and embraced them from the first moment. Also, there athletes were always willing to help us with anything we needed. Finally, I can not fail to mention the participation of 11 Cretan crews who come from other side of Greece to participate in this race! Congratulations to all the guys who dedicate so much time, effort and money to follow what we love! “
