Rallye des Ardennes 2023 by lens

After the South Belgian Rally came the Rallye des Ardennes for the Belgian Cup which is a new institution. A big surprise of course is the participation of Ott Tänak with a Ford Puma Rally 1 guest of Jourdan Serderidis who had won the race last year with his own Puma Rally 1. The participation of the Estonian is a test for the next WRC race in Croatia. But the race also had drivers from WRC2, which this year has gathered top entries. Georg Linnamäe and Grégoire Munster enter the battle with the timers while Tänak is not included in the general classification as was done with the participation of Pierre Louis Loubet in the 2022 South Belgian Rally.

Unfortunately, the weather was bad with a lot of mud on all the stages. Quite a few people came to enjoy world-class passes but unfortunately the difficult weather conditions did not allow the drivers to push. The program had 4 passes without much pressure since we saw several innings before changing points. The race also had a bad outing for Gino Bux who was injured and will be out for about 3 months and so the championship ends in just his third race of the year. It was also his first entry with the team of Stéphane Sarrazin who has a lot of experience in VW Polo R5. In the first two races, as throughout 2022, he ran with the SXM team of Jourdan Serderidis. The winner of the race was Georg Linnamäe with a Hyundai i20 N Rally2, doing several kilometers in preparation for the Croatian race but unfortunately in difficult weather conditions.
