In the most important race of Greek motorsport and in one of the most famous of the World Rally Championship, the EKO Rally Acropolis will take part the VE2 Rally Team with a crew of Vassilis and Giannis Velanis. The duo of the team will participate with a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo in the WRC3 category against the contenders for the world title and the best Greek and Cypriot drivers. The finish in the first place and the distinction between the Greek crews, in the second, is the goal of the crew that was properly prepared for our national race.
“We have worked hard in the first two races of the Greek Rally Championship to bring a real racing car, such as that of the rally2 category, to our driving style. It is the most powerfull car we have driven so far and we have done several kilometers of tests to get acquainted and be ready to give our best at the Acropolis Rally ” were the words of the driver that he completed regarding the condition of the special routes: “The rains of the last days have changed a lot the situation of the special stages which have nothing to do with what we met in the Rally of Fthiotida and Corinth. The mud on the routes of the second and third leg is enough and we hope that the rain does not continue so that the crews do not face problems. ”.
The main goal of the crew of the VE2 Rally Team is to finish: “We want to raise the Greek flag at the finish and offer a spectacle to the fans who are thirsty for the Acropolis Rally. A trouble-free race in combination with a finish in the first Greek places, would be ideal », δήλωσε ο Βασίλης Βελάνης κλείνοντας: «We wish from the bottom of our hearts to all the Greek crews to fulfill their goals and to give joy to the Greek spectators. »
The Acropolis Rally consists of 15 special stages and 292 racing kilometers. It will start on Thursday, September 9, under the sacred rock of the Acropolis, with the racing cars heading to Syntagma Square to participate in a special route in front of the Greek Parliament. Over the next three days will be directed at Corinthia, Viotia, Fthiotida, Fokida and Evritania to finish Sunday September 12th afternoon in the Panhellenic Exhibition Lamia.
